Our food

 

All Just Imagine Day Nursery Canvey Island’s food is freshly cooked every day in our kitchen. We have a ‘Healthy Eating ‘policy, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and a variety of flavours and textures for the children to try. All children’s dietary needs are taken into consideration when planning our weekly menu. A vegetarian alternative is always available, as is specific requirements, for example, allergies or religion.

The nursery has set meal and snack times during the day for the 1 – 5 year olds to help them establish a healthy routine to feel safe and secure. The under 1-year-olds have their own routine set by you from what they are used to at home to help them settle easier into nursery life.

Breakfast – 7.30 am – 8.30 am – Selection of cereal, toast, pancakes, or waffles served with milk or water.

Morning snack – 10.00 am – Variety of fruits (depending on the season).

Lunch – 12.00 pm – This changes throughout the year depending on likes/dislikes of the children and availability of the product. Please find below our sample lunch menu.

Afternoon snack – 2.00 pm – Selection of breadsticks, rice cakes, or crackers

Tea – 4.00 pm – Again this will change throughout the year, however, please see our sample lunch menu below.

Evening snack – 6.00 pm – Milk and a biscuit or piece of fruit.

An updated daily menu is displayed on the notice board in the foyer.
