Funding

The cost of day nursery can put many parents/carers off choosing it as an option. But there are ranges of Government schemes open to parents/carers that can make nursery affordable – and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for. A range of choices are outlined below:

Funded Places – 15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare for many working parents of 2-year-olds, and 3 – 4-year-olds.

Government funding means that all children after their 3rd birthday are entitled to 15 hours per week free funding.
30-hour funding is available for eligible parents/carers.

The 2-year-old entitlement works differently from the 3-year-old entitlement. A letter of eligibility will be sent to parents. This has a reference number for which the nursery uses to claim the free funding.

At Just Imagine Day Nursery Canvey Island, we accept government funding for 3-4-year-olds and those entitled to 2-year-old.

Tax-Free Childcare – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit, or childcare voucher.

Voucher Schemes – Just Imagine Day Nursery Canvey Island is approved to accept vouchers issued under the childcare voucher salary sacrifice scheme. Please note that the scheme is closed to new entrants on 4th October 2018. Parents/Carers already on the scheme can continue to benefit from the savings as long as their child remains eligible* (*eligibility will end 1st September after the child’s 15th birthday, or 1st September after their 16th birthday if they are disabled).

Parents can check whether they could be eligible for a range of government childcare offers, including the 30 hours offer, at Childcare Choices: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

Alternatively, please contact the nursery for further information.
